Smart Curtain Motor Pro

This is my fourth Switchbot device that I’ve purchased as I try to make my home ‘smarter’. And for anyone looking to automate their curtains, this device is great. The SwitchBot Curtain 3 truly delivers on ease of installation, which is great for me because I’m not the most tech savvy person although I’m trying to change that. The package includes both a quick setup card for immediate use and a comprehensive user manual for those who want detailed guidance. Additionally, the SwitchBot app features both a video installation guide and a pictorial step-by-step guide, giving you multiple resources to choose from based on your learning preference. I appreciated having all these options - the quick setup card got me up and running fast, while the app's visual guides provided extra reassurance during the process.The physical installation was very straightforward with no tools required. The device clips securely onto your curtain rod very easily. Calibrating the device was also easy and fast - the app walked me through each step clearly, making the setup process completely foolproof.Connecting the Curtain 3 to the SwitchBot app was completely hassle-free. The device appeared immediately when I opened the app unlike a lot of other devices I’ve connected in the past (no connection issues or lengthy pairing process). The app recognized the device quickly and walked me through the simple calibration steps without any technical problems.One of the standout features of the Curtain 3 is its quiet operation. The motor runs smoothly without the loud grinding or clicking sounds you might expect from an automated curtain system. It’s not completely silent because there is still a motor, but the noise level is minimalFor anyone looking to automate their curtains without dealing with complex setup procedures or disruptive noise, this device delivers exactly what it promises and reinforces why SwitchBot has earned my loyalty as a customer.

This is one of the best things I've bought in a long time! My lizard is in the front window and I needed his curtains to be automated just like his lights. The timer works great and it's nice to have the curtain open slowly to wake him up with natural light. Then the curtain closes after his lights shut off so he gets a good nights sleep without headlights shining at him. Before I bought this I was highly inconvenienced to have the window opened or closed on time. There' are multiple sets of hardware and instructions depending on which type of curtains you have. I have back panel and had no issues setting this up. It was also very simple to program and set up a schedule. The slow drift is very quiet but the regular setting is not.

I have a large window inside my house that is impossible to reach without using a latter. Normally the blinds are closed all year round, but now I can use one of these on a curtain rod with some blackout curtains to easily open and close with my phone.The installation was pretty simple and the instructions were easy to follow.I like this option more compared to getting custom "Smart" blinds for two main reasons.1) The price is cheaper2) I can take the device to any other curtain rod (window/door/entryway) and accomplish the same functionality instead of being stuck to a specific window sizeIt responds quickly every time I've used it and I like the open/close options the SwitchBot app gives me. I can either open all the way, close all the way, or slide to any percentage in between. You can also slightly push or pull these devices to initiate an open or close without using the app. This is very nice but not applicable to my far away setup.So far the battery has been good after about a full month of owning and I haven't needed to recharge. I don't use it every day though. I'm interested to see how long the charge will last me with my normal usage since I didn't buy the solar charger.It isn't that loud, and it has a super quiet slow mode, but you can definitely here it whenever you use it normally. Pretty sure my cat can hear it from anywhere in my house because he always comes running to watch what the robot is doing.Durability seems great. Connectivity and compatibility have worked flawlessly with my Android device and a 1 inch curtain rod with a 100x84 inches blackout curtain. Pretty much the only hiccup was working with the bead clamps provided so that the metal grommets on my curtains didn't get stuck as the bot pulls the curtain shut.I think the main reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I haven't had enough experience to know how long these robots can last.

Let me just say this invention has improved my circadian rhythm tremendously.I used them as an alarm clock as they open my bedroom curtains when the sun comes up. Days where I need to wake up later it’s incredibly easy to adjust the time and have the curtain open whenever I need just like an alarm clock.The creep mode is so quiet I can’t hear them open and I’m a light sleeper. Even awake testing it I couldn’t hear it.Install was easy with instructions. They give you everything you need for multiple style curtains. (Highly recommended checking the style you have before buying) it’s worth adjusting the style curtains you have to make this product work because it’s incredible.Battery life has been phenomenal as well. I’ve only had to charge it once in like 6 months or something. The app shows the battery life so I just charge it at 20% to keep the lithium battery healthy.Connecting to the app was easy. The app is well made to be honest. Very user friendly and has exactly what you need to setup time of day open and close. Quiet creep mode etc. scheduled open/close by weekday etc.When I am able to buy them I’ll be doing the entire house for sure to open curtains with sunrise and close them with sunset.Seriously love these things and anyone looking for a natural sunlight alarm I highly recommend for that as well. Just use in combo with blackout curtains and have them open like 30min or so before the sun comes up so you have a nice gentle sunlight increase.

I was skeptical at first about automating my curtains, but this device has turned out to be one of my favorite smart home upgrades. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is, especially in silent mode. I now have it scheduled to open in the morning so I wake up to natural light, and to close at night for privacy. The scheduling feature works reliably, and I can also control the curtains from my phone or with voice commands through Alexa once paired with the hub.The design hides nicely behind the curtain so it’s not noticeable, and the battery life has been solid. I have only needed to top it off once after weeks of use. I like that there’s an option to add a solar panel for charging, which I might do later.Overall this is a great way to bring a little convenience and comfort into daily life without having to invest in expensive custom motorized blinds. If you’re curious about smart curtains, this is a practical and affordable choice.
